About this event
Pianist Victoria Garcia-Ruiz, a junior at Buffalo Grove High School, studies piano with Lyudmila Lakisova. She is a Midwest Young Artists Merit Scholarship student since 2024, was a finalist in the 2026 Peoria Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition and was the piano winner in the 2025 O'Malley National Concerto Competition, Midwest Young Artists division. Victoria also plays viola and is a Chicago Music Pathways Initiative fellow.Violinist Gabriel Martinez, a junior at Vernon Hills High School, studies violin with Sang Mee Lee. Gabriel is a fellow in the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative, where he has earned competitive scholarships for private lessons and summer music camps. He is also a merit scholarship student at the Music Institute of Chicago and performs often at Nichols Hall and Buntrock Hall.Free tickets will be given to those present starting at 2:30 pm.
