About this event
Step into a \*safer\* space where you can unwind, reset, and decompress in a container built by us for us. This zero-cost offering is the fruits of the heart work of two BIPOC women at the Karma House, who believe that the support and healing that can be found in affinity spaces is invaluable. Each session will begin with a community check-in: an opportunity to engage in prompted sharing (or silence- your choice!) with other participants about current events, daily frustrations, how amazing dinner was last night, or anything else that feels present. We will then transition to a yoga-based movement practice, working with the needs and requests of those in the group. Classes are beginner-friendly, encourage the use of props, modifications, and feature a choose-your-own-adventure style of working with our bodies. **\`🌿 About The Karma House** The Karma House isn’t your average bar — we’re an alcohol-free kava bar and community hub in Lakewood, CO. Our space was created to bring people together through music, art, wellness, and connection. From live shows to poetry nights to wellness workshops, everything we do centers around community and creating a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all. **🥥 What is a Kava Bar?** Kava bars are unique gathering places where people come to connect and unwind without alcohol. Instead of cocktails, we serve traditional Polynesian kava — a calming root tea that has been used for centuries in the South Pacific for relaxation, stress relief, and social connection. **🍵 What is Kava?** Kava is made from the root of the Piper methysticum plant. It has gentle, grounding effects that can help calm the body and quiet the mind, making it perfect for relaxing, connecting, and enjoying good company. At The Karma House, we prepare our shells of kava with care and community in mind — it’s more than a drink, it’s a ritual of connection.
