Year-end screening: bring your best 2026 work

Last one of the year. Bring the best thing you made in 2026 and we'll watch it properly, on a real screen, with people who care about how it was put together. FIRST TIME? This is a small, friendly group that meets twice a month on Saturday afternoons at Schuler Books on 28th Street, in the Chapbook Cafe. Free, no cover. A screening is the easiest one to turn up to cold - you can just watch. WHAT WE'RE DOING Everyone shows one piece, up to five minutes. A short, a scene, a reel, a music video, a commercial spot, a photo series, a self-tape you're proud of. Finished or not. Then we talk about how it was made rather than just whether we liked it. After that, we plan 2027: who wants to shoot something together, who needs crew, who needs actors, and what we should actually make as a group. Nothing to show? Come anyway. A screening needs an audience, and this is the lowest-pressure way to meet the group. HOW THE AFTERNOON GOES 1:00 - coffee, introductions, who brought what 1:20 - screening, five minutes each 2:20 - how things got made: the interesting part 2:45 - what we're making in 2027 Bring your piece on a laptop or phone plus headphones. Schuler Books, 2660 28th St SE - big parking lot.
