Yasmin Williams is an innovative guitarist and composer whose expansive instrumental style has made her one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary acoustic music. Her latest album Acadia, released on Nonesuch Records, marks an exciting evolution from solo performer to collaborative artist, featuring notable musicians including Aoife O'Donovan and Immanuel Wilkins. Williams' unique compositional approach often begins with what she describes as "ruminating" on a single note until a piece naturally unfolds. Beyond her remarkable fingerstyle guitar technique, she performs on kora, harp guitar, banjo, and electric guitar, creating richly layered textures.
