Celebrate I Love Yarn Day by joining us for a free, beginner-friendly introduction to fiber through a yarn tasting (it's like a wine tasting, but for yarn)! Hosted by Christina Dacanay, the owner of Acorn Craft Shop, this event will introduce you to various types of yarn fibers, common blends, how each behaves, and what projects they're good for. We will have samples of various wools, cotton, linen, silk, mohair, alpaca, acrylic, and common blends. Participants can touch, compare various yarns and fabrics, and a limited number of people can take home a small "taste" of yarn to try at home while supplies last. Yarn samples include: Malabrigo Rios, Malabrigo Mohair, Knitting For Olive Merino, Isager Jensen, Quince Tern, Cascade Heritage Sock, Kelbourne Woolens Mojave, Kelbourne Woolens Germantown, Cascade Pima Cotton, Blue Sky Fibres Prarie, and many more! In partnership with Acorn Craft Shop, on Washington Ave, between Park and Sterling. Come early for a drop-in Crochet Clinic from 12-2 in the same room, the new Art Studio.
