About this event
Main Floor Meeting Room. Normally we make things using the finger knitting technique, but this time, we'll make a tiny blanket using a plastic needle and a cardboard loom! It's easy to pick up and produces results quickly, so your little crafter will feel super proud of themselves by the end of the session! We'll make a cute tiny blanket for an animal friend! Registration required. Suggested for ages 7 . Not a drop-off program, please stay and knit with your child. Knitting has numerous mental, physical, and emotional benefits for knitters of all ages. Knitting encourages focus, problem solving, and pattern recognition. In order to make any knitted piece, knitters need to plan ahead, organize their thoughts, and follow through to completion. The act of knitting improves fine motor skills and finger dexterity as well as boosting patience and self-confidence! Studies have also shown that knitting is a stress reliever--contributing to a person's mental well-being by promoting mindfulness and tranquility.
