About this event
Main Floor Meeting Room. A knitting club for beginning crafters--no needles needed! Using just your two hands, you can create fun things out of yarn! Finger knitting is a great way to introduce kids to knitting and crochet. It's easy to pick up and produces results quickly, so your little knitter will feel super proud of themselves by the end of the session! We'll make a seasonally appropriate pumpkin! Registration required. Suggested for ages 7 . Not a drop-off program, please stay and knit with your child. Knitting has numerous mental, physical, and emotional benefits for knitters of all ages. Knitting encourages focus, problem solving, and pattern recognition. In order to make any knitted piece, knitters need to plan ahead, organize their thoughts, and follow through to completion. The act of knitting improves fine motor skills and finger dexterity as well as boosting patience and self-confidence! Studies have also shown that knitting is a stress reliever--contributing to a person's mental well-being by promoting mindfulness and tranquility.
