About this event

Community Room. Before becoming one of the most famous lawmen of the American West, Wyatt Earp was a teenager navigating a rapidly changing America. This fascinating presentation explores the formative years of Earp's life, from ages 14 to 16, examining both documented events and legendary tales that may have shaped his future as a lawman, entrepreneur, and frontier icon. Discover Wyatt's youth in Iowa, the network of family, friends, and community members who influenced his development, and the social, cultural, and racial tensions that defined the era. Through historical records and thoughtful speculation, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the experiences that helped mold one of the most recognizable figures of the Old West. Recommended for ages 13 and older due to mature historical themes and content. Let's Meet the Presenter! Janelle Molony is an author, educator, and storyteller whose work explores the history of women, wars, and the American West. A former K–12 classroom teacher, homeschool parent, and creator of educational YouTube content, she brings history to life through engaging research and compelling storytelling. Known for presentations that are both thought-provoking and entertaining, she combines historical scholarship with humor, insight, and memorable stories that create meaningful connections with audiences of all sizes. Whether speaking in an intimate gathering or a large auditorium, she always seems to have “one more story” to share.
