Writing Poetry for Fun and Publication

Do you write poetry? Would you like to? Are you working on a collection of poems? Do your grocery lists accidentally turn into prose-poetry? Are you fascinated by words? This workshop is designed to get you writing in ways you’ve never written – packed with exercises and discussion that will help you start poems, finish them, and think deeply about why, how, and for whom we write. Taught by Damian Johansson, a published poet, self-professed word-nerd, and professor of Creative Writing and English at the University of St. Thomas. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
