Writing in Color

About this event

In this generative writing workshop, we will explore the Garden to observe and document colors and how they make us feel. Back in the classroom, we’ll dive into connections between colors and memory. Prompts will be provided for a quick writing warmup exercise, and then we’ll have plenty of time for free-form writing. We’ll conclude with time to share what we wrote — volunteers only! — with the group. All skill levels and genres are welcome. Date: Saturday, Sept. 12 Time: 10 a.m. – noon Fee: $40 (Member $35) Registration Deadline: Sept. 8 Instructor: Christy Petterson About Christy Petterson Christy Bardis Petterson is an artist and writer from Atlanta. For 18 years, she organized an award-winning craft market called the Indie Craft Experience. She was a teaching artist at the High Museum of Art for 10 years, and she has also taught at MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta), Atlanta Botanical Garden, Clubhouse Kid + Craft and other locations in Atlanta. She enjoys printmaking, bookbinding, natural dyes and dabbling in all things creative. She also loves reading and writing. Christy graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in literature and creative writing, with an emphasis on creative nonfiction. She lives in East Atlanta Village.
