Writing Workshop. Learn how to navigate between fact and fiction in writing historical novels and about the challenges of bringing the past into the present. Explore the research, writing and publishing process with a former international correspondent turned debut novelist of Hill of Secrets, an Amazon best-selling historical novel set in WWII Los Alamos. Galina Vromen began writing fiction after more than 20 years as an international reporter, mostly with Reuters News Agency, in Mexico, France, the Netherlands, England and Israel. She then spent a decade operating two non-profit pre-literacy programs. Her short stories have been broadcast on NPR’s Selected Shorts and appeared in American Way, Adirondack Review, and Tikkun among other publications. Her debut novel, Hill of Secrets, about life in WWII Los Alamos, where the world's first atomic bomb was built, was a recent Amazon historical fiction best-seller and has garnered some 7,000 four- and five-star ratings on Amazon.
