Join Us for our next BWA Write to Publish, Publish to Sell meetup. In this session, we'll be focusing on starting an email list using Substack. We all know that we should probably have an email list, but starting one can feel a bit daunting. Andy Curran runs a publication called "The Poetic Pause." They took their publication from 0 to 1,000 subscribers in six months and have navigated a lot of early hurdles and pitfalls. They are going to walk us through exactly how to get your list started and how to build and grow. In this session we'll tackle the initial tech setup, creating your about page, crafting an effective bio, and nailing down your niche (even if you don't have one). We will also discuss getting your first subscribers and building a community that can help you make your newsletter flourish. The main goal for this session is helping you build a newsletter that actually works for you, without consuming all your time.
