Fall Pysanky Workshop: Ukrainian Batik Eggs or Ukrainian Eggs Join us for a hands-on Pysanky Workshop where you’ll explore the rich history and cultural significance of traditional Ukrainian egg decorating. Participants will learn the wax-resist technique used to create intricate designs and decorate their own pysanka step-by-step. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided. Each participant will leave with a beautifully decorated egg they created themselves. Join us for a hands-on Pysanky Workshop where you’ll explore the rich history and cultural significance of traditional Ukrainian egg decorating. Participants will learn the wax-resist technique used to create intricate designs and decorate their own pysanka step-by-step. We will feature fall designs, symbols, and colors but you are also welcome to choose your own design. No prior experience needed and all supplies provided. This workshop is recommended for 12 year olds and older. Each participant will leave with a beautifully decorated egg they created themselves. She is passionate about the traditional wax-and-dye batik method used to decorate eggs and the rich history and symbolism behind the art form. For Julie, pysanky & pisanki are more than decoration—it is a meaningful way to connect with her cultural heritage and explore history through a hands-on, creative tradition that has been passed down for generations.
