Workshop: Cuban Salsa Night

About this event

In one hour, students will learn the fundamental steps of Cuban salsa, so that they feel comfortable trying out their moves on the dance floor. We’ll cover rhythm, footwork, hand placement, and make sure that everyone feels comfortable. This particular type of dance requires frequent partner changes, so feel free to come with a partner, your friend group, or solo! We recommend dancing in comfortable shoes. During the 2-hour social, you will hear Cuban music, and a bit of cumbia and bachata . Come as you are, and leave a little more connected. Event Details: Date : Saturday, August 22 Time : 3:00-6:00pm Participants: max 40 Location: Atrium Instructor : Maddie Ahrens and Félix Almendra Hernández Cost for participants : Members: $15 General Public: $20 Instructor Bio: Relocating from the lively Cuban salsa scene of Northern California, Maddie and Félix are passionate about bringing that same community spirit to the Green Bay area. They love attending festivals to continue learning as much as they can from Cuban instructors. Maddie and Félix are so grateful for the growing local network of dancers who enjoy learning about Cuban dance.
