About this event

@ Warfare in Revolutionary North America required a massive mobilization of labor across a broad spectrum of inequality embedded in colonial legal regimes. Join Dr. Richard Tomczak of Stony Brook University for this fascinating lecture based on his 2025 book of the same title. Learn about the essential, but often overlooked, labor that sustained warfare and empire in North America from the late 17th century through the American Revolution. Explore the lives of soldiers, sailors, craftspeople, laborers, and other workers whose skills and efforts supported military campaigns, colonial economies, and the expansion of European power. Discover the everyday people who built, supplied, transported, and maintained the infrastructure of empire. REGISTRATION This program is included with museum admission. Space is limited, so registration is requested.
