Wonder Labs: STEAM Investigation: Boats & Float Challenge

Join us on Mondays and Wednesdays for our brand-new Wonder Labs! These guided sessions rotate through four exciting themes: Art Exploration, STEAM Investigations, Sound Waves, and Page to Stage. Each day will offer either independent Tabletop Activities from 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM OR a 20–30 minute Direct Guided Experience at 10:45AM and 1:30PM. Come explore, create, and play with us all summer long! Mon. Sept. 14: STEAM Investigation: Boats & Float Challenge – 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM Set sail for an exciting hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) adventure! In this session, our young boat builders will use their creativity and fine-motor skills to craft their very own floating vessels, then put them to the test to see how much treasure they can hold before making a splash. Wed. Sept. 16: Page to Stage Storytime: The Scarecrow – 10:45AM and 1:30PM We’ll be reading The Scarecrow together and crafting our very own scarecrow disguises, which will double as the perfect costume to wear on September 23 for The Scarecrow concert, our final Music in the Garden event of the season. Come hang out with us for a fun morning of reading, crafting, and getting ready for the big finale! Mon. Sept. 21: Art Exploration: Nature Collage Creations – 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM Turn nature’s treasures into a work of art! Mix and match leaves, flowers, twigs, grasses, and more to create a one of a kind collage. Make a funny creature, a little house, a colorful scene, or whatever you can dream up! Wed. Sept. 23: STEAM Investigation: Static Electricity Butterflies – 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM Get ready for a hair-raising STEAM adventure that will spark your child’s curiosity! In this electrifying session, our young scientists will craft colorful tissue-paper butterflies, then harness the invisible power of static electricity to make their wings flutter and fly like magic!
