Wonder Labs: Art Exploration: Crayons Come to Life

Join us on Mondays and Wednesdays for our brand-new Wonder Labs! These guided sessions rotate through four exciting themes: Art Exploration, STEAM Investigations, Sound Waves, and Page to Stage. Each day will offer either independent Tabletop Activities from 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM OR a 20–30 minute Direct Guided Experience at 10:45AM and 1:30PM. Come explore, create, and play with us all summer long! Wed. Sept. 2: Art Exploration: Crayons Come to Life – 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM Kick off the school year with a splash of color! Create your very own crayon character with a silly face, movable arms and legs, and tons of personality. Will your crayon be happy, goofy, sleepy, or totally wild? You decide! Wed. Sept. 9: Sound Waves: Cup Orchestra – 10:45AM and 1:30PM Ready to make some noise? On September 9th, we’ll be turning everyday cups into a full-blown Cup Orchestra, learning how to tap, slide, and stack our way through some of our favorite songs. It’s all about finding the rhythm in the simple things and working together to create one big, percussive sound. Whether you’ve mastered the “cup song” before or are totally new to the rhythm, come grab a seat and help us catch the first wave! Mon. Sept. 14: STEAM Investigation: Boats & Float Challenge – 10:45-11:45AM and 1:30-2:30PM Set sail for an exciting hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) adventure! In this session, our young boat builders will use their creativity and fine-motor skills to craft their very own floating vessels, then put them to the test to see how much treasure they can hold before making a splash. Wed. Sept. 16: Page to Stage Storytime: The Scarecrow – 10:45AM and 1:30PM We’ll be reading The Scarecrow together and crafting our very own scarecrow disguises, which will double as the perfect costume to wear on September 23 for The Scarecrow concert, our final Music in the Garden event of the season.
