Coolidge Museum. Join Joy Deva Baglio, D. M. Gordon and Jesse Sterling Harrison for an evening of folkloric poetry and prose: for Harrison's anthologized short story, "Rootmother" for Gordon's realizations of Charles Leland's 19th-century manuscript Witch Ballades, found languishing in the archives of the Philadelphia Museum and come prepared to be bewitched by Joy Deva Baglio, who might unveil a sea-witch from her mermaid novel, How to Survive on Land, or maybe not. Baglio warns that witches are slippery. She doesn't know who might be summoned—come find out. About the authors: Jesse Sterling Harrison is a prolific recording artist, an author of speculative fiction, and a passionate ornithologist. His archival acoustic album Catch and Release Program is out now on Brave Tiger Records, and his stories will appear in upcoming issues of Lovecraftiana, Bullet Points, and Unlikely Stories. He lives in Easthampton with his wife Mari, herself a published writer of stories and poems. D. M. Gordon's recent and upcoming publications include Loosestrife for Porcupines (Blue Light Press); Gabriel, a novel about a lost boy in British Columbia; and Edda, a prequel about his grandmother, a sex worker in WWII Seattle—both from Sibylline Press in 2027 and 2028. Nightly, At the Institute of the Possible was a Massachusetts Book Award finalist. As the inaugural Writer in Residence at Forbes Library, Gordon led a decade-long public forum on poetry, at the same time publishing eleven poetry collections for Hedgerow Books, including finalists for national awards.
