Winter Music Fest at Chafunkta Brewing

About this event

Winter Music Fest: Three Shows, One Stage, All Student Bands Winter on the Northshore doesn't mean things get quiet. On Sunday, December 13, School of Rock Northshore takes over Chafunkta Brewing in Mandeville for Winter Music Fest, a day of live music played entirely by our students. These kids, teens and young musicians have spent the whole season at the school learning these songs, and this is where it all comes together on a real stage, in front of a real crowd. Three student rock bands, three shows. Women of Rock salutes the artists who kicked the door down and turned it up. Classic Metal brings the riffs, the volume and the attitude. One Hit Wonders takes on the songs everybody knows every word to, even if they can't name the band. Every note is played live by our students. School of Rock Northshore is an extracurricular, performance-based music school offering programs for students ages 4 through adult. Our students don't just take music lessons; they join bands, rehearse together and play shows at venues around the Northshore. This is what the future of music looks like: young musicians keeping live rock and roll alive, here at home and at School of Rock stages all over the world. Come out to Chafunkta Brewing, cheer on our bands and see what a kids music school can really do. And if you leave wanting to be up there next season, book a free trial lesson. Music lessons in Mandeville start with one visit.
