Wine, Balloons and Tunes at Wind Vineyard

Wine, Balloons and Tunes returns to Wind Vineyards November 13–15 for a weekend of hot air balloons, live music, food, drinks, family activities, monster truck rides, and more. Friday, November 13 Gates open at 3:00 p.m. at the main tasting room, 5178 Richmond Highway in Tappahannock. Activities include tethered balloon rides, live music, monster truck rides, kids’ activities, food and drinks, and a vendor fair. Near sunset, the hot air balloons are scheduled to light up for an evening balloon glow. The winery will remain open until 10:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14 Morning chartered balloon flights are scheduled shortly after sunrise, and ticket holders are welcome to watch. Festival gates open at 2:00 p.m. at 854 Dunbrooke Road. The afternoon will feature live music, tethered balloon rides, monster truck rides, kids’ activities, a vendor fair, food, wine, sangria, wine slushies, and nonalcoholic beverages. A balloon glow is planned near sunset. Sunday, November 15 The weekend concludes with another round of chartered hot air balloon flights shortly after sunrise. Ticket holders are welcome to come watch. Balloon rides Tethered balloon rides are short rides approximately 25–30 feet above the ground and will be available Friday and Saturday, weather permitting. Rides are $20 per person and are purchased directly from the balloon pilots on site. Chartered balloon flights are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday mornings and typically last 45–60 minutes in the air. Advance reservations are required. Flights are $350 per person and are booked and paid directly through the balloon pilots. Important information All balloon activities are weather dependent. Balloons will not be inflated throughout the entire festival, and scheduled flights, tethered rides, and balloon glows may be changed or canceled due to weather conditions.
