About this event

Dreaming of gardening season? Come stretch those gardening muscles while creating a 6-foot garden tower to use as a trellis for climbing crops and flowers. And non-gardeners can just enjoy the structure for its architectural interest! This is a very physically demanding class. Participants must be able to sit and crawl on the floor, get up and down from the floor frequently, and use considerable hand, arm and finger strength. But don’t be scared off: this is a fun project which results in a very usable piece of work! ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Mary Kopecky has been a volunteer at ICNC for 30+ years and was also an Artist in Residence for two years at Indian Creek Nature Center teaching willow basketry and garden art. She is a former board president and an active member of ICNC’s Friends Group helping with signature events. She has also created many large willow structures at the Amazing Space play area for children to explore and has continued teaching willow-making classes ever since. Cost
