About this event
The Wild Crafted: Fernents, Flora, and Fungi Workshops series offers you the opportunity to learn time-honored, budget-friendly kitchen skills that elevate simple ingredients into richly flavorful and health-enhancing staples. The purported health benefits include enhanced probiotic and microbiome diversity, improved digestion, better nutrient absorption, and effective blood sugar regulation. Our first workshop is The Pickle Lab: Fast and Easy Refrigerator Pickles Each participant will take home a half pint jar of pickled cucumbers and a quarter pint jar of pickled onions ready to go into the refrigerator. Workshops are presented by the UC Master Food Preservers of San Diego County. UCCE Master Food Preserver volunteers are agents of the University of California and work through the UC Cooperative Extension to educate the community on the safe practices of food preservation. Space is limited, registration is required.
