Let’s Get Wild About Wolves! National Wolf Awareness Week 2026 Friday, October 24th 2026 11:00 AM-2:00 PM This event is free with Admission and Membership. Celebrate Wolf Awareness Week at AWCC! Wolf Awareness Week is a national event that began in 1996 to raise awareness about wolves, their conservation, and the important role they play in healthy ecosystems. Join AWCC staff for a howling good time as we celebrate these fascinating animals! Learn about wolf adaptations, behavior, and the vital role wolves play in their native ecosystems. The day will feature wolf-themed crafts and educational activities, a Naturalist wolf talk, and special enrichment for AWCC’s resident wolf. Wolf Activities & Crafts | 11:00 AM–2:00 PM Location: Bison Hall Explore the wonderful world of wolves through hands-on educational activities and wolf-themed crafts for the whole family. Wolf Naturalist Talk & Enrichment Toss | 1:00 PM Location: Wolf Habitat Meet an AWCC Naturalist at the wolf habitat to learn about wolf behavior, adaptations, and the important role wolves play in Alaska’s ecosystems. Then stick around for a special enrichment toss and watch our resident wolf investigate, explore, and enjoy enrichment prepared just for him!
