About this event
Mayer Room. For the past 20 years, nation-wide the number of hunters has declined, but the number of women hunters has increased. However, in most states, deer numbers are out-pacing their reduction by hunters. This event should help us understand women’s important role in the hunting world. Coming from Norwich, Enfield and Cornish, four women hunters will discuss the several reasons that they hunt deer each fall. The event will also have Madeline Zukowski (from NH Fish and Game) and Nicole Meier (from VT Fish and Wildlife) who will describe the special training programs intended for women hunters. Attendees will get to sample some of the food made with venison, such as sausage and stews. Sponsors: Hanover Biodiversity Committee (subcommittee of Conservation Commission), Howe Library, Hanover Garden Club, Hanover Conservancy, Upper Valley Land Trust.
