Which beliefs have you changed since you were younger?

We have done this one before, [in 2017](https://civilizedconversation.wordpress.com/2017/03/17/mondays-mtg-which-beliefs-have-you-changed-since-you-were-young-and-why/). The topics committee (Gitta, Neva, DavidG) thought it would be a good time to do it again, before the fierce competition from the upcoming election gets too heated. After all, political views do not arise in a vacuum. They come from one's worldview and personal philosophy and experiences. And those really can change over time. Which opinions/POVs have you changed over the years? They do NOT have to be anything to do with politics. Maybe your views on child rearing have evolved since you raised kids, or your views on the value of a college education changed, or the priority you place on environmental protection or voting rights. Maybe you have developed different opinions on bigger or more fundamental things, like religion, or marriage, or sexuality, or the merits of capitalism/socialism, or of human nature itself. Anyway, short notice for this meeting, but I hope you find this topic intriguing enough to make time for it. Also, Gitta and Neva and I just picked new topics for Sept - January. We are working to schedul the dates now. Look back here in a day or two for some readings related to Monday's topic and a full Sept - Jan schedule. The next few months requires some heavy discussions of electoral politics and our political leaders and system.
