Wellvis is Matt Hahn, an award-winning family physician and Karl Straub, a well-known DC songwriter and guitar ace. Wellvis is a combination of wellness and Elvis. Wellvis is rock and roll that's good for you, baby. While Matt and Karl were putting the band together, woodshedding on the Stooges and Bo Diddley, Matt also took Karl's songwriting class. Matt and Karl soon began writing and recording songs together. A lot of great rock and roll is the result. Wellvis released its first song, SuperHIGH, in June 2026, and Ain't You Got No Shame on September 29, 2026. "Wellvis -- we make rock 'n' roll that's good for you, baby!" The David Kitchen Band is led by David Kitchen, a singer, songwriter and guitarist who is restlessly active in the local music scene. He plays and sings - originals and interesting covers, in a totally approachable, energetic way. The Washington Post called his music “a mixture of charm, attitude and tunefulness” and the Washingtonian magazine remarked, “he has a knack for writing clean pop driven rock with just enough soul and grit”. Kitchen has won several awards from The Washington Area Music Association (Wammies) including Songwriter of the Year and Best Pop Vocalist. He has assembled a noteworthy band: Arch Alcantara, Dave O’Brien, Ariel Francis and Wil Cameron. David regularly continues the DC tradition of playing a wide variety of music with his own group as well as with The Thrills and The Cahoots, and can be seen at fine venues and dive bars alike. --- COMMUNITY-POWERED EVENT!
