Welding - Intro to Stick

In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of our Stick Welding machine. This is a beginner friendly class that will teach you practical skills you can continue to practice on your own after the course, and will help you understand how the machine works and how to select the correct filler materials. Our instructor will guide you through the process step by step, tool by tool. Topics Covered Basics of material prep Welder setup Selecting the right welding rod for the job Proper welding techniques Laying a solid bead with the two most common welding rods Additional Information Attendees must be at least 13 years and up. Please wear clothing made of natural fibers such as cotton, wool, or leather, as stick welding produces aggressive spatter. After the successful completion of this class attendees will be given a certificate allowing them access to the Metal Shop and use of the Stick Welder with a paid Make Salt Lake membership. Note that this class does not cover the use of the Forge or other welder types. Cancellation & Refund Policy Cancel at least 48 hours before the class start time for a full refund. How to Find Us* Please arrive on time, we will meet in the Make Salt Lake lobby then walk students to the workshop. Attendees who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be able to join the class.
