Wausau: Read to a Therapy Dog

Children can practice their reading skills by sharing stories with certified therapy dogs! This winter and spring, we’ll be joined by Teddy, a golden retriever, and Rose, a Great Dane, as well as a few other guest pups that might drop in from time to time. Children can bring their favorite books from home or borrow some from the shelves. Not only can Teddy and Rose bring a smile to your face, but they’re also willing and friendly listeners. You might even get a couple snuggles! Drop in anytime from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Children’s Center on Jan. 23, Feb. 27, Mar. 20, Apr. 17, and May 22. This free event is open to children along with their caregivers. For more information, contact 715-261-7220.
