About this event
Celebrate the beauty of fall by walking a different trail every Sunday in October. With crisp air, vibrant colors, and scenic views, it’s the perfect time to get outside and get moving. Each week showcases a new trail, highlighting autumn’s most spectacular landscapes while encouraging healthy, active living. Leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun. The first 200 participants at each location will receive a commemorative Walktober button designed by artist Brooke Wangwe—collect all four by attending every event! Celebrate fall with Walktober at the Kemper Outdoor Education Center, located in Jackson County Parks’ Fleming Park! Explore a scenic one-mile trail featuring four unique Missouri ecosystems: a seasonal wetland, tallgrass prairie, cactus glade, and forest community. Along the way, enjoy the native pollinator and butterfly gardens, koi and water gardens, Kemper House, wetland boardwalk, and Kemper Pond while discovering the plants and wildlife that call these habitats home. The morning will also feature Quick Paint with local artists capturing the beauty of the Kemper grounds and surrounding fall landscape as you walk. Come walk, explore, and experience one of Jackson County Parks’ hidden gems! CHECK-IN: 8201 S Jasper Bell Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64015 GUIDED TOUR: 10:30 a.m.
