Walking the Schuylkill: Artist Walk & Talk with John Brady

In 1682, William Penn placed our city where it is because of its proximity to the Schuylkill River. From the mid-1700s to the mid-1800s, the Industrial Revolution radically changed the Schuylkill River with factories and mills built along its banks. The environmental movement changed the river as radically as the Industrial Age changed our country. These impacts leave imprints. Walking the Schuylkill by photographer John Brady intends to capture and highlight those marks. We invite all to learn more about this enlightening exhibit in our “Artist Walk & Talk” with John Brady! Join us for a one-hour discussion with John about how he captured the Schuylkill River for this exhibit, from camera settings to post-production. Focused on the “Photography Process“, attendees will learn about the technical detail involved in John’s photos. After the talk, join us for a brief 10 to 15 minute walk on the Schuylkill River Trail to take your own images and find inspiration. Bring your curiosity and your camera!
