Walking Soccer is a fun way to stay active, meet new people, and carry on World Cup energy in Lawrence. The library, together with the Senior Resource Center and Lawrence Parks, Recreation, and Culture, launched this low-impact version of soccer designed especially for adults 50+. It's a huge hit! Walking Soccer is just like it sounds: no running, no intense competition, just friendly play, light exercise, and plenty of laughs. These pop-up sessions are held at the climate-controlled, indoor soccer pitch at the Sports Pavilion at 1:30 pm on Wednesdays. Membership or a day pass to the Pavilion is required. Players are encouraged to bring a size 4 ball if they have one. No registration is needed. Just show up.
