As spring arrives, we bring you a special, intimate Jukebox program that invites listeners onto the proverbial porch—where music flows freely, stories are shared, and a sense of place is felt in every note. Porch Songs honors the legacy of American folk traditions and the communal spirit that sustains them. Featuring Pulitzer Prize-winner Jennifer Higdon’s exploration of her Southern roots in Southern Harmony, the Appalachian-infused stylings of fiddler and composer Mark O’Connor and brand new arrangements of music by bluegrass legend Matt Flinner alongside many more. This program celebrates the magical place where classical and folk traditions meet. For this intimate concert experience, audience members will be seated on stage with the musicians.
