From early colonization through the Revolutionary War, African Americans helped shape America’s path to independence. Often overlooked, their lives reflect courage, resilience, and sacrifice. Discover the stories of soldiers, writers, spies, sailors, scientists, and everyday individuals who faced extraordinary challenges. Presented by Laura Keyes. The North Shore Programming Consortium consists of six local libraries (Bayville, Glen Cove, Gold Coast, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay and Sea Cliff) that have come together to bring our patrons more of a variety in adult programming in a more cost effective way.
