About this event
Celebrate the Austin Traditional Jazz Society’s 50th Anniversary Season with an afternoon of toe-tapping tunes from the Violet Crown Serenaders, one of Austin’s favorite traditional jazz bands. On Sunday, October 18, from 2–4:45 p.m., head to Ben Hur Shrine Temple for an afternoon inspired by the dance music of the 1920s. Led by drummer Dave Bedrich, the Serenaders bring classic jazz to life with plenty of rhythm for both longtime jazz fans and swing dancers. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy a lively afternoon on the hall’s large dance floor. Snacks, beer, wine and sodas will be available, and guests are also welcome to bring their own food. Best of all, this is a family-friendly Austin experience with plenty of free parking. Admission: Free for ATJS members $12 for guests $5 for college students with ID and members of the Austin Jazz Society Ben Hur Shrine Temple 7811 Rockwood Lane, Austin, TX, just off Anderson Lane near MoPac For more information, visit www.atjs.org.
