Each month we start from the top, learning the basic steps and building out enough vocabulary to get you moving on the dance floor. Vintage Swing 1 is a four-week series introducing you to Lindy Hop, a unique Black American art form originating in New York City during the Harlem Renaissance. This dance evolved with the exciting swing music of the 1920s and 30s, born on the dance floor as folks responded to the new swinging rhythm. Take this series at least one time before moving on to Vintage Swing 2, or hang out in this level a few times if you prefer.
