Viewport : Exhibition by Sahaf Chowdhury β26 at CoLab, Lewis Arts complex in Princeton, NJ on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Gathering from his background in illustration, theatrical design, and videogame development, Sahaf Chowdhury, a senior majoring in the Practice of Art in the Department of Art & Archaeology, presents Viewport, a multimedia installation that explores the use of videogame engines as a vehicle for creating art. The show explores different modes of art that exist within videogames, from art assets that typically make up games, games themselves, and art that doesnβt fit neatly into either category. Simultaneously, the exhibition proposes the idea of videogames as portals that bring us into new worlds. The way this experience is framed, typically through that of the controller and the screen, keeps us grounded in our world as we peek into a new one. But what happens when you mess with this form? Can reshaping the frame that bounds a videogame change the experience of the portal? Exhibition Photos Viewport, an exhibition of works by Sahaf Chowdhury β26 on view in the CoLab from April 15-22.
