Course Details Dates: Thursday, October 1, 8, 15, & 22 Time: 6:30-8 pm Location: Room 210 This course teaches adults with some programming familiarity how to build a real, professional-looking website using Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant. Students work through a curated project idea of their choosing across four 90-minute sessions, progressing from a browser-based prototype all the way to a fully functional local website — with the option to deploy it live on the internet in the final session. Each session opens with a short conceptual segment to build understanding of the technology, followed by hands-on building time. Students leave every session with tangible results. Course Prerequisites Mandatory Entrance Quiz — Must be completed for acceptance into class. DO NOT register for class until you have received permission to enroll. Please contact Joanne Connon at jconnon@westportlibrary.org and request a Mac or Windows version of the test prior to registration. Laptop requirements: Mac: Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) strongly preferred, or an Intel Mac from 2019 or newer. macOS 13 Ventura or later Windows: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11, processor from 2019 or newer Memory: 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended Free disk space: 15GB Reliable Wi-Fi and a charger.
