This three-session series offers a thoughtful exploration of the rapidly evolving field of psychedelic-assisted healing, bridging modern neuroscience with lived human experience. Together, we’ll explore the therapeutic potential and limitations of these medicines, while grounding the conversation in safety, ethical responsibility, and the essential role of preparation and integration. The intention of this course is not to promote use, but to provide a clear, balanced, and informed perspective for those seeking to understand this area with greater depth and discernment. No prior knowledge is required. Skeptics, newcomers, and those simply seeking clarity are all welcome. This series is designed for adults who are: Curious about emerging approaches to mental health and healing Hearing more about psychedelics in the media and looking for a grounded, evidence-based perspective Exploring personal growth, trauma healing, or consciousness in a thoughtful and responsible way Supporting a family member or friend navigating these conversations Course Syllabus Week 1: The Landscape of Psychedelic Healing History, current research, and an overview of commonly discussed substances and their clinical relevance Week 2: Safety, Readiness, and Context Contraindications, psychological and medical screening, “set and setting,” and ethical considerations Week 3: Integration and the Arc of Healing How individuals metabolize and make meaning from these experiences, and why integration is central to outcomes About the Instructor Jennifer Boyd, PA-C, MA is a physician associate, ecopsychologist, and practitioner of integrative medicine whose work explores the fertile intersection of science, nature, and human consciousness.
