UT Opera Theatre presents The Cunning Little Vixen

In Leos Janacek's folk-inspired The Cunning Little Vixen, experience the story of a clever young fox cub, Vixen Sharp-Ears, her escape from captivity, and her coming-of-age in the forest. Split between the human and animal worlds, this opera features a cast of hens, fox cubs, crickets, grasshoppers, and many more, all thrillingly brought to life by Janacek's lush and colorful score, featuring the rhythms and melodies of Moravian folk music. After she is trapped and taken home by the human Forester, Vixen Sharp-Ears must escape imprisonment, find a new home, and look for love in the big, wide world. Meanwhile, the Forester and his friends experience love, loss, and renewal, seeing their human woes and caprices reflected in the never-ending circle of life. This story is brought to life by two casts and an orchestra of talented University of Tennessee students. Performed in English with English supertitles above the stage.
