Upper Valley Symphony Orchestra
Under the direction of conductor Mark Nelson, the Upper Valley Symphony Orchestra performs its annual spring concert. The program features a new work especially commissioned in honor of the Upper Valley Music Center’s 30th-anniversary season. Pablo Santiago Chin, who teaches music at the Longy School of Music and Dartmouth College, has adapted the rhythms and textures of seasonal sounds in his composition Upper Valley Seasons. Two movements, “Autumn” and “Winter” will be premiered at this concert; the premiere of the complete work will occur during the 2026-27 season. This concert program also includes Carl Maria von Weber’s Overture to Der Freischütz and Carl Nielsen’s Saga-Dream; it will conclude with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6. Thank you to Vermont Violins and Jake’s Market & Deli for sponsoring this concert!
