About this event
North Park Branch. What does it take to bring a World War II fighter airplane home? This presentation tells the remarkable story of how volunteers from the Niagara Air & Space Museum acquired, transported, and reassembled a rare three-quarter-scale Curtiss P-40 Warhawk from the Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, New York. Through photographs and firsthand stories, you'll follow the project from a simple idea to a successful museum exhibit, learning about the planning, teamwork, engineering, and determination required to move an aircraft more than 150 miles. Taught by Board member Niagara Air & Space Museum, retired Mechanical Engineer, Retired UB Professor Jim Van Oss. The library meeting room will open approximately 20 minutes prior to the start of each class. Registration is required and guarantees a seat until the start of each class. Please register at our front desk or over the phone at (716) 875 - 3748. Ages 50
