About this event
Join Stephen Robert, CEO of Bedrock Credit America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, for an informative and easy-to-understand program on understanding, building, and protecting your credit. With 19 years of experience teaching credit education, Stephen will break down the factors that go into your credit score, including payment history, credit card balances, length of credit history, types of credit, and inquiries. He’ll explain how these factors work together and share practical strategies you can use to strengthen your credit. The program will also cover common credit questions and mistakes, including what to know before paying an outstanding collection, how to keep credit cards active without carrying large balances, shopping for a mortgage or auto loan, and the potential risks of using “free” credit-checking websites. Stephen will also discuss how current and past credit card utilization can affect your scores. Attendees will leave with practical, easy-to-implement information to help them make informed credit decisions and work toward maintaining the best credit possible. This program will be presented virtually. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Otis Library was designed to accommodate people of all abilities. To request an accommodation, please contact Kari at kwall@otislibrarynorwich.org.
