Understanding Power Outages with Camden Talks Climate

@ On Thursday September 10 at 6:30 p.m., a “Camden Talks Climate” presentation at the Camden Public Library and on Zoom will explore what happens locally when the power goes out. This is a hybrid event. Learn about how the electric transmission and distribution system works, what to do if you encounter downed wires, how to prepare for outages, and how emergency managers and utilities coordinate to identify where outages are and to respond. Fred LaMontagne, senior manager of emergency management and operations for Avangrid/Central Maine Power, and Candice Richards, director of the Knox County Emergency Management Agency, will explain the mechanics of outage responses and answer audience questions.
