About this event

Planning for long-term care is one of the most important steps in protecting both financial stability and personal independence as we age. This training session breaks down the realities of long-term care needs, the costs families often face, and the range of options available — from in-home support to assisted living and skilled nursing. The goal is to replace confusion with clarity, giving people a grounded understanding of how long-term care works and what it takes to prepare for it. Participants will learn how to evaluate potential care needs, understand coverage gaps in Medicare and employer benefits, compare different funding strategies, and avoid the common pitfalls that leave families unprepared. Whether someone is planning for themselves or helping a loved one, this session offers practical guidance and straightforward tools to make informed, confident decisions about the future. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org
