UC Berkeley-Baroque Ensemble & Boston Conservatory Present, Venus and Adonis
**(I am sure this performance will sell-out.)** The UC Berkeley, University Baroque Ensemble, focuses on 17th and 18th-century repertoire, using period instruments, including gut strings and Baroque bows. The Ensemble provides period instruments to students and focuses on historical performance practices. This performance of *Venus and the Adonis*, will be in collaboration with musicians from the *Boston Conservatory at Berklee,* the oldest Conservatory in the country, founded in 1867. Venus and the Adonis was composed by John Blow in the 1680s. It is a mythical tale of love and loss, and was the first full length opera written in English. The performance, David Miller, Director will take place in Hertz Hall, 8:00pm. **(Seating is first come, first serve.
