Program Room. Trends & Changes in UC Admissions and the Current Standardized Testing Policy With the University of California no longer requiring SAT or ACT scores—or other standardized tests—for admission, what should students focus on to improve their chances of getting into top UC campuses such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UC San Diego? Without the emphasis on standardized testing, have extracurricular activities become more important? What about volunteer work, leadership, personal passion, research projects, or other meaningful experiences? Join us for an informative session where our college admissions counselor will discuss the latest trends and changes in UC admissions, what the UC campuses are currently looking for, and how students can strategically strengthen their academic and extracurricular profiles. We will discuss: The current UC admissions landscape and recent changes UC's current standardized testing policy What matters most in a student's application The role of extracurricular activities, leadership, and volunteering How passion projects and research can strengthen an application Strategies students can use to improve their chances at competitive UC campuses such as Berkeley, UCLA, and UC San Diego Join us to learn what UC admissions officers are focusing on today—and how students can better prepare for admission to their aspired UC campuses.
