About this event
Join Historian Gary Kemp for a discussion of Thomas Jefferson's life and times. We will explore his relationships with John Adams and Alexander Hamilton and how their competing visions shaped our young republic. Gary Kemp, B.A. Franklin and Marshall College, MDiv, Duke University. Gary spent 30 years serving as a pastor and chaplain. He had the privilege of serving the chapel at Roosevelt Warm Springs as chaplain. In retirement he has gone “back to school” teaching at Parrish Community High School and beginning this year he will be teaching at Parrish Charter Academy. His spare time finds him reading, writing, working out and walking. Travel, usually to a historical destination, is a passion. He is engaged to Margie Falin and together they share a beautiful and well behaved three year old poodle named “Sully”! American history has been a life-long interest with an emphasis on colonial and Revolutionary periods.
