Meeting Room 1, Meeting Room 2. Lecture and slide show presentation about a multi-year survey of hawk migration at Napatree Point. Annual hawk watch counts are conducted at more than 275 locations in the United States. Napatree Point in is the premier site in Rhode Island. Hawk watches provide an opportunity to view numbers of hawks and hawk species. Scientifically, they provide data used in research, management and conservation projects. Joseph Zbyrowski is a raptor specialist who has been working with hawks and owls for more than 30 years. He is a retired teacher of environmental science, master bird bander, former raptor rehabilitator, and has done volunteer work with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Parks Service and Audubon Society of Rhode Island. He conduct and annual hawk migration counts in Rhode Island and is currently involved with Peregrin Falcon and Barn Owl restoration project. This program is free and open to the public
