The Sunny Hours in Concert

Join Gesa Power House Theatre on Saturday, April 25 at 7PM as Lyric Works, LLC presents THE SUNNY HOURS IN CONCERT! With the first rain of notes from The Blue and Green Waltz, you’ll be whisked along on a vibrant musical journey: from lively swing melodies – to poignant ballads – to towering anthems as soaring and captivating as the Cascades themselves. The music – from The Sunny Hours new, original musical – tells the story of a bright and determined high school girl in swing-era Seattle, Catherine, who plans a future that bucks the convention of her times. As we follow Catherine from her gritty Seattle younger days, through her life’s twists, turns, challenges and triumphs, the expressive music, and rich visual backdrops, paint a vivid picture of her remarkable experiences…and brings Catherine’s uplifting character and resilience to life. This is a charming story, based on real Washingtonians, and crafted by Washington State talent. The Book and Lyrics are by Tri-Cities native Eileen Voiland; music written by Seattle-based composers Nancy Erickson Lamont and Shawn Schlogel. The concert will be performed by Tri-Cities WA based group Adrienne Fletcher, Hannah Evans, Samantha Gustafson, Ted Miller, Jason Morgan and Julie Wiley, most of whom originated roles in The Sunny Hours Tri-Cities premiere, and are very excited to be performing on the wonderful Gesa Power House Theatre stage!
