Film Description: Fired from his band and hard up for cash, guitarist and vocalist Dewey Finn finagles his way into a job as a fifth-grade substitute teacher at a private school, where he secretly begins teaching his straight-A students the finer points of rock 'n' roll and the power of sticking it to the man. But as the school’s stern principal closes in and the Battle of the Bands looms, Dewey must risk everything to prove that rock 'n' roll can change lives. Performance Description: Following the screening of School of Rock, stay for a special live performance by the School of Rock Franklin House Band. The House Band is School of Rock Franklin's premier audition-based ensemble, featuring some of the area's most talented young musicians. These students perform throughout the year at major community events including Franklin's Fourth of July Celebration, Pumpkinfest, festivals, and charitable events across Middle Tennessee. This summer, they also completed a California tour, performing at legendary venues including the Whisky a Go Go, The Troubadour, The Canyon Club, and Hotel Ziggy, while also recording at Nashville's iconic Blackbird Studio. Their performance will feature classic rock favorites and showcase the incredible musicianship, energy, and passion that have made School of Rock Franklin one of the region's most exciting youth music programs.
